An exciting opportunity is available for a Director of Nursing to join a large social services agency in Queens, NY. This role involves overseeing nursing operations and will require travel between Queens and Nassau locations. It's a fantastic position for a seasoned nursing leader looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Job Function:
- Day Shift
- 9am - 5pm.
Ensure quality health care delivery to all Residential Program participants.
Directly supervise Residential RNs within the assigned cluster.
Serve as a coach, collaborator, facilitator, and support for Residential Nurses.
Provide orientation and training for newly hired nurses as assigned.
Act as hospital discharge planner by coordinating with hospital staff, initiating Surgical Review Committee when needed, visiting hospitalized individuals, and assisting RNs with staff discharge training.
Job Requirements:
• 3 years of nursing experience with three of those years in the ID/DD field, required.
• Previous training and Quality Assurance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OPWDD regulations.
• Experience working with people with Autism is preferred.
