About the Role
Cielo Treatment Center is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a part-time, on-site locum tenens opportunity. This role supports our outpatient mental health and addiction treatment services, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population.
Position Highlights
- Location: Portland, OR
- Schedule: 1 day per week (Tuesdays preferred; Mondays or Wednesdays considered)
- Patient Volume: 6-10 patients per day
- Type: Locum Tenens (not temp-to-perm or permanent)
- On-Call: None
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
- Prescribe and manage medications for mental health and substance use disorders
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust medications as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, and counselors
- Provide psychoeducation and support to patients and families
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Oregon state and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted Oregon PMHNP license (required)
- Certification: DEA certification (required)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in psychiatric or addiction medicine preferred
