Description & Responsibilities
The Nurse Manager is a growth-oriented leader who uses team process, coaching, and team strategy to drive change. This person has a responsibility to create and sustain an environment that recognizes each resident's physical, emotional and spiritual needs beyond traditional nursing home procedures and protocols. The Nurse Manager will create and sustain small home clinical excellence, will support development of team functioning, and achieve and maintain operational efficiency in the neighborhood through team created process development and improvement, solid employee relations skills, and innovative strategy to meet changing expectations in long term care. This position will be called upon to find solutions to issues concerning the resident, family and facility which impact quality of life and well-being through team processes.
- This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. On-call rotation every 6 weeks.
- Oversees performance management of staff on assigned floors, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and termination interviews and hires new staff; oversees onboarding experience for new staff
- Guides teams toward clinical, quality and operational excellence
- Understands and embraces the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Process as the way to address operational challenges and concerns
- Contribute to the formulation, review and amendment of operational policies and operational procedures in accordance with administrative organization of the facility
- Contribute to Quality Assurance initiatives with responsibility as an active member in various committees; CQI, HIPPA, Interdisciplinary Policy and Procedure and Clinical Leadership
- Will handle other responsibilities as part of the Nursing team on the assigned floors
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate in Nursing and 5 years of commensurate healthcare leadership experience required
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Previous experience working in a long term care setting strongly preferred
- RN license required
- Master's degree desirable
