Location: New York, NY 10019
Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Pay rate : $ 65 - $69 / Hour on W2


Summary:
The Clinical Nurse (RN) provides expert, safe, and compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level 3 NICU at Mount Sinai West. This role demands strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver relationship-centered care grounded in evidence-based practice and nursing theory.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Deliver nursing care aligned with Relationship Centered Care and evidence-based standards.
Assess, evaluate, and manage patient care needs using critical thinking and clinical skills.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
Prioritize patient education, discharge planning, and delegation effectively.
Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Manage patient assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing model, ensuring effective resource allocation.


Patient Experience:
Model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care (MSHRCC) principles including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR), and Discharge Wrap Up.
Respect patient values, cultural diversity, and preferences, building therapeutic relationships.
Use evidence-based approaches to enhance patient and family understanding and satisfaction.
Initiate service recovery processes when patient/family concerns arise, escalating appropriately.


Qualifications
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Mandatory (Associate Degree with active BSN matriculation considered only with significant relevant experience)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 2 years NICU experience in a Level 3 NICU environment
Minimum 2 years RN experience overall
Experience with EPIC electronic health records highly preferred
Strong clinical judgment and excellent interpersonal skills
