Job Description:
• Title: Ultrasound Technologist
• Procedures: General, ab/ob. small parts.
• Start Date: 04/21/2025 (Must be within 4 weeks)
• Shifts: All shifts Available.
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week.
• Duration: 6 months - 24 months.
• Pay Range: 28.84/hr. to $45.67/hr. Incidentals Provided by Facility (for full time candidates only):
• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance.
• Additionally, $2,000- at 6 Month payout, $3,000- at 12 Month payout and $5,000- at 24 Months Payout. Major Job Functions:
• Fully competent to perform all procedures within the Ultrasound Section of the Radiology Department
• Fully competent in the technical operations of all equipment in this section.
• Assesses the patient, reviews the orders/ chart as appropriate confirming the reason for exam. Ensures pertinent patient symptoms and clinical history are documented and a signed consent form is present if needed.
• Prepares the patient for the procedure, answers any patient's questions and effectively communicates with the supervising radiologist for special instructions and/or questions regarding exam protocol.
• Responsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologist.
• Provides a safe environment to include, but not limited to, infection control guidelines, universal precautions and patient safety goals.
• Monitors the timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goals, striving for continuous quality improvement. Performs QA of exams (correct order, accurate/complete image annotation, correct laterality) prior to sending it to radiologist for interpretation.
• Actively participates in the clinical education of student sonographers.
• Actively participates in department's Performance Improvement Projects. Qualifications:
• 1-year minimal experience required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved Sonography program required.
• Current BLS/ CPR (AHA) required.
• ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) preferred.
• New graduates may apply that are registered or registry eligible. New graduates that are registry eligible must be registered by either ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) within 12 months of their hire date.
