Local Contract CT Technologist - $60-64 per hour

Talent4Health is seeking a local contract CT Technologist for a local contract job in Detroit, Michigan.

Required:

• Must have at least one year of CT experience.
• ARRT (CT) required.
• BLS - AHA required.
• Every other weekend

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
• May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
• Performs related duties as required.

Essential Functions:

• Explain examination procedure to patients and prepare patients for the examination.
• Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination.
• Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
• Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.
• Analyzes the anatomical structure of patients, sets up equipment and performs the CT scan.
• Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
• Administers intravenous contrast media to utilization of power injectors.
• Monitor patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patients if a reaction should occur.
• May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed.
• Ensure the adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
• Assists Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
• Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection: may involve shielding of patients, selection of appropriate equipment settings to reduction dose, using other ALARA techniques, etc.
• PACS: resolves any/all image exceptions and ensures high quality image delivery into PACS; including viewing of images into PACS, and confirming image/series counts.
• RIS: completes all study indexing; including study begin, study end, and the completion of the study in the Radiology Information System.
• Reviews and confirms as necessary with Radiologist clinical protocols before performing study.
• Demonstrates on a consistent basis Team member standard of excellence including AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, respecting diversity, etc.
• Performs all documentation in the medical record as necessary, as well as within the radiology information system to support all clinical and billing functions.

Physical Demands:

• May work in the hospital with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory Mobile Unit at one of the Medical Centers.
• May be potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized.
• May be exposed to high-voltage equipment.
• May be exposed to potentially contagious patients.
• May lift and/or move equipment and/or patients occasionally, that would be in excess of 10 lbs.
