Loan Processing Representative I / Lending Department Assistant

Local community bank is seeking a customer focused, professional, and detailed oriented Loan Processing Representative I at their Altoona Branch.


This is an entry level position is responsible for the proper processing of loan transactions and documents for loans in portfolio (consumer, commercial, mortgage); the maintenance of loan files and records; assisting with the Lending Departments administrative tasks.



Qualifications:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


Administrative and customer service experience is a required, highly preferred in banking


Proficient knowledge of software including but not limited to internet, spreadsheet, word processing, core processing, and lending applications


Knowledge of lending related laws and regulations


Accurate data-entry skills with strong attention to detail


Strong mathematical and documentation skills


Comfortable initiating customer greeting, addressing customer by name and direct eye contact


Able to uphold customer confidentiality


Professional in appearance and communications




Responsibilities:


Processes consumer and basic mortgage loans from receipt of completed application through gathering all preliminary underwriting documentation, preparing preliminary disclosures, and boarding to the core system


Data entry/input of new consumer, commercial, and mortgage loans, as necessary


Reviews, organizes, and verifies loan documents to efficiently process loan files


Compiles & prepares statistical reports and assists in mailing satisfied documents to clients


Assists in appraisal process, including ordering, receiving, copying, and sending to customers; maintains current appraiser insurance.


Assist in the review of approved loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing, such as purchase of private mortgage insurance.


Contact borrowers, real estate brokers, or branch managers to request documents.


Organizes and maintains loan files, files correspondence and other records, including consumer, commercial, and mortgage loan insurance policies, as necessary and assists in the obtainment of required policies.



Overview of Schedule and Compensation:
This is a full-time position.


Bank hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m.


Hourly rate position based on related experience level


Medical & Dental Insurance provided at the first of the month after 60 days of service
