Under the direction of the Director of Living Services the Living Services Coordinator's primary responsibility is to ensure the MIMI residents are engaged in their goals which facilitate a higher level of independence. The Living Services Coordinator will need to have an acute knowledge and understanding of each of the residents' cognitive, mental and physical status and provide coaching for staff which reflects positive, person-driven interventions for the residents.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES

  • In partnership with Director/Manager of Living Services evaluate staff training needs, initiate and plan strategies for staff training
  • Work closely with management in the development of policies and procedures as they relate to care provisions
  • Track objective progress towards goals which facilitate a higher level of independence
  • Initiates asking for assistance with clinical leadership and/or contracted staff when needed
  • Partners with staff and clients to coordinate day to day needs
  • Partner with staff and clients to plan meetings with contractors, medical appointments and community integration that will lead to a higher level of independence
  • Model and coach therapeutic interaction
  • Coordinate and monitor team meetings, training and staff meetings with all necessary parties
  • In partnership with Living Services Manager, ensure proper shift coverage including on call rotation
  • Model accountability and professionalism as it relates to staff
  • Models and emulates Minds In Motion Initiative's core values of empathy, compassion and autonomy support
  • Regularly monitor Living Services staff performance against standards, and provide coaching

Coordinator should have a proficiency of proficient-level to advanced-level for the enterprise competencies below:

We're looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
1 year Management/Administrative experience Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of Acquired Brain Injury preferred 24/7 Residential care experience Ability to teach, empower, and support the team Previous experience in direct patient care is highly preferred Certified Brain Injury Specialist or willingness to achieve Self starter, creative, responsible, able to work independently Satisfactory driving record and clear criminal background history
