Digital Controls Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and effectively contribute to the plant safety process, including both controls & robotics safety standard (ISA, OSHA, A3)
- Existing Hardware and software optimizations. Must strive for continuous improvement in the digitalization and controls ecosystem. Help with troubleshooting and training on existing systems. Provide risk assessments regarding our vulnerability to security and obsolescent equipment.
- Partner with plant technicians, engineers, and equipment vendors to deliver control systems upgrades that provide optimal equipment operation to produce quality products at the lowest cost while maintaining the safety of people who interact with equipment. Own the project from concept all the way through technician training, documentation, and startup.
- Help implement and maintain a world-class documentation system and training processes.
- Implement/support various automated controls technologies including PLC systems, control and communication networks, SCADA (server and standalone) systems, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor technologies.
- Data:
- Utilize relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle
- Develop, publish, and manage interactive Power BI Semantic models, reports and dashboards that provide valuable insights to the Process Improvement, QA, Engineering Services, Production, EH&S, and Supply Chain teams.
- Develop and coordinate Data architecture execution at a plant level between on-premises Historians and cloud connectors.
- Monitor data refresh schedules and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
Qualifications - Preferred:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, IS, or Chemical Engineering
5+ years of industrial process control experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
