Undertaking legal advice and support to clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (both for access to property and related to anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions. This involves conducting legal proceedings and representing the Council in court.
Additional Responsibilities
- Providing advice and assistance to clients on education matters, particularly challenges to decisions regarding SEND and EHC assessments.
- Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department.
- The role may also suit a junior officer seeking to develop knowledge and skills in the above areas, including providing assistance to senior officers and working closely with them.
- Potential development opportunities in Court of Protection work related to adults' social care.
