Our new hire will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.
Minimum 5 years of work experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in the BigLaw world or a highly competitive boutique that does large scale corporate, antitrust and/or IP litigation. Extensive Experience with the various stages of litigation is required, including intake, discovery, and trial. Experience preparing for and attending trials/arbitrations/hearings is a huge plus, too. Other desirable experience includes but is not limited to:
- Coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including negotiating for workspace
- Setting-up remote office space
- Case management
- Vendor coordinating and negotiations.
- Developing and maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and electronic case files.
- Cite-checking and Bluebook rules, as well as working knowledge of legal research using WestLaw Lexis-Nexis & Reuters, et al.
- Experience with relevant e-discovery/Litigation Support programs such as Disco, Relativity, Concordance, Summation, etc. is extremely desirable, too.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA Approved program or Cert via state attestation route in CA or similar in other states
- 4+ years working as a Litigation Paralegal or Case Manager
- Ability to work overtime, complete intermittent travel in support of trials.
