Position: Full-Time Litigation Paralegal
Location: San Jose Office
Reputable law firm is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal for their business litigation practice group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze legal sources (statutes, cases, legal codes), preparing summaries for attorney review.
- Draft and file legal documents, ensuring compliance with deadlines and court requirements.
- Manage discovery responses, eDiscovery, and electronic data.
- Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys, and other parties.
- Prepare for and attend depositions and trials, summarizing transcripts and assisting during trial.
- Record billable and non-billable hours and ensure timely, accurate timekeeping.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or Paralegal Certificate (work experience may substitute).
- 4-6 years of paralegal experience, with at least 3 years in litigation calendaring and court filing.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, motions, discovery, and evidence.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (knowledge of PowerPoint, NetDocs, ProLaw, and Disco is a plus).
- Experience with e-filing in State and Federal Courts, especially in Bay Area counties.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
