- 2-3 years in complex litigation, including professional negligence and medical malpractice.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic file management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with local and state court rules, HIPAA guidelines, and insurance defense billing.
What You'll Do: As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for discovery, summarizing extensive litigation documents, and preparing exhibits for depositions and trials.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support for depositions, trial preparation, and trial proceedings.
- Organize and summarize extensive documentation gathered during the discovery process.
- Prepare authorizations and subpoenas for the retrieval of records.
- Create detailed timelines and medical chronologies; conduct research on medical literature, diagrams, and terminology.
- Ensure compliance with local and state court rules as well as HIPAA guidelines.
- Conduct background investigations using social media and internet tools.
- Engage with clients, attorneys, experts, and other professionals, draft correspondence and analysis memoranda.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and adhere to insurance defense billing guidelines.
- Utilize MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and electronic file management systems.
