We are a boutique Family Law and Immigration Law Firm with an immediate opening in our office for a full-time Family Law Litigation Paralegal. This position will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects and gain valuable experience. Paralegals work a hybrid schedule, working from home some days and working in the office on other days. We are looking for someone who will thrive with our dedicated team. Paralegal's responsibilities will include:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of family law litigation, including divorce, child custody, property settlements and marital agreements
- Front-Facing communications with Courts, Opposing Counsel, Experts and Clients on a regular basis
- Organize and maintain clients' electronic files in a cloud-based server
- Conduct legal research, maintain attorney calendars, stay on top of court deadlines, serve as a liaison between the client and the attorneys
- Draft legal forms and pleadings
- Arrange court filings and process serves
- Assist with discovery, including with document collections, document reviews, and document productions
- Help attorney prepare for trials, depositions, MSCs, and hearings by creating the necessary pleadings, trial notes, and exhibit binders.
Experience
- At least 2 years of Paralegal experience in Family Law is required.
- CA Paralegal Certificate (preferred but not required - please do not let this keep you from applying)
- Experience with high-asset cases and familiarity with the local rules and courts in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with Dropbox, MyCase, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Zoom is required.
- Ability to speak Korean or Spanish (preferred but not required - please do not let this keep you from applying)
- A suitable candidate must work well within a team, be able to multitask and prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines, and have excellent writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.
Expected compensation is between $35/Hour -$40/Hour depending on candidate's experience. Where you fall within this range is dependent on experience, seniority, and demonstrated role ability during the interview process.
