Litigation Paralegal - South Florida

A leading Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join one of its South Florida offices on a full-time basis.

Key Qualifications:


Qualifications:


  • Paralegal certificate (registered paralegal with state or nationally certified is preferred), two or four-year college education.
  • 6+ years of law firm experience is required.
  • Excellent computer skills are required. This includes experience with all Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and administrative skills are required.
  • Possess knowledge of Westlaw, Lexis, Pacer, PacerPro to pull case law, statutes, court dockets, and documents.
  • Possess familiarity with document databases, e.g. Relativity, Rational, Case Notebook, Trial Director, etc.
  • Utilization and familiarity with a document management system - e.g., NetDocs, iManage, Worldox etc.
  • Utilization of legal billing software - e.g., iTimekeep, Intapp, Rocket Matter, MyCase etc.
  • Bilingual (Preferred)



Scope of Responsibilities:


  • Participate in case planning, development, and organization, including management of task list for assigned cases.
  • Conduct legal and factual research. Gather facts and retrieve information and/or documents, as requested by an Attorney. Collect, compile, review, and utilize legal, factual, or technical information to make an independent decision and recommendation to the supervising Attorney.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize court filings and other legal documents, including documents produced in the litigation.
  • Filing with the Court - State and Federal including filing under seal.
  • Manage court filings in coordination with Attorneys and the Legal Assistants. Review court filings for proper form, including conformance with Bluebook, state, federal, and local rules of the court, prior to filing. Be familiar with judicial and court procedures for hearings and trials. Prepare exhibits, and if necessary, redactions to documents. When required, electronically file and/or transmit documents to the court.
