Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with all phases of litigation support, case and document management, preparation and coordination of discovery, trial preparation and trial
  • Preparing and formatting pleadings and other legal documents
  • Document Review
  • Interaction with clients, experts and lay witnesses, both orally and through written communication
  • Filing legal documents (electronic and paper) in Federal, State, and Appellate Courts
  • Monitoring case docket
  • Maintaining active case files
  • Legal fact and basic legal research
  • Coordinate and schedule calendars

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, supporting multiple attorneys
  • Familiarity with common litigation documents, including complaints, answers, notices of appearance, motions, miscellaneous notices, and orders
  • Knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure (FRAP), and state court rules
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • High level of organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands
  • Self-starter with good problem-solving skills while maintaining client service orientation.
  • Must possess strong writing and analytical skills to independently review, draft, and prepare documents.
  • Responds promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' as Litigation Paralegal, preferably insurance defense
  • Ability to work overtime
