Position Overview:The Litigation Paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys in a fast-paced personal injury law firm. This position will involve working on a variety of cases, including mass tort, motor vehicle accidents, and other personal injury matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in both pre-litigation and litigation matters and possess strong drafting, research, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, settlement, and appeals
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations
- Manage and organize case files, including maintaining a database of all documents and correspondence
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information
- Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, and arbitrations
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts and other discovery materials
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence
Qualifications:- 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal (personal injury background preferred)
- Paralegal certification or associate's degree in paralegal studies
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and deadlines
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents
- Experience with both state and federal court systems
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work closely with clients and communicate effectively
- Familiarity with case management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of personal injury laws and procedures
