We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to support our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of civil litigation experience and be comfortable managing cases with minimal supervision. This role requires a strong understanding of the litigation process, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment. Caseload will be primarily focused on Construction law and property disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, from case inception through trial and post-trial activities.
- Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests/responses.
- Organize and manage case files, including electronic discovery and
- document production.
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, expert witnesses, and trial logistics.
- Summarize records, deposition transcripts, and other key documents.
- Perform legal research and cite-checking as needed.
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and court filing schedules.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- 3-7 years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal
- Experience with Commercial Construction or Property related law preferred
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software (e.g., Clio, Relativity, or Trial Director).
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with trial preparation and support (e.g., creating trial binders, managing exhibits, assisting in courtroom).
- Familiarity with specific practice areas such as commercial litigation or real estate disputes
