Job Title: Senior Litigation Paralegal

Position Overview:
A leading law firm in Birmingham, AL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal with a minimum of 7 years of experience in complex litigation. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in product liability defense. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage high-volume caseloads with minimal supervision.
This position supports attorneys through all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and case management. A strong understanding of federal and state court rules, e-filing procedures, and litigation technology is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and organize discovery documents including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas
- Assist in the preparation of pre-trial and trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks
- Conduct research and analyze medical records, deposition transcripts, and expert reports
- Manage large-scale document review and production using e-discovery tools
- File legal documents in both federal and state courts, adhering to applicable procedural rules
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and vendors as needed throughout litigation process
- Maintain detailed case files and databases, ensuring all deadlines and court dates are tracked and met
- Assist attorneys in deposition and trial preparation, and attend trials as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with strong preference for product liability or complex civil litigation
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Extensive experience with federal and state litigation processes and rules of civil procedure
- Strong working knowledge of e-filing systems, case management software, and e-discovery platforms (eg, Relativity, Concordance, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, automotive, or industrial product liability litigation
- Familiarity with Alabama courts and legal procedures
- Notary Public certification a plus
