Location: Tampa, FL
Position: Legal Assistant
Salary: $64,000-$72,000/YR (depending on experience)
Overview: LHH Talent Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Assistant to join their team in the Tampa office. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance defense, with medical malpractice defense experience being a major plus. This position requires a lot of scheduling, teamwork, and a great attitude. The role involves working for two associates on a large overall team and is fully in-office with no remote schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, revise, and finalize correspondence and legal documents/pleadings.
- File pleadings through state and federal ePortals.
- Manage attorney schedules and update calendars with case-related deadlines and upcoming events.
- Interact with clients and maintain client files.
- Enter information into the firms practice management program.
Requirements:
- Insurance defense experience is required; medical malpractice defense experience is a major plus.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work product to both attorneys and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
