Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a law firm in downtown Portland to hire an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant. The firm is seeking a highly skilled legal professional who is well-versed in Oregon litigation, confident working independently, and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to a team of attorneys
- Prepare, edit, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Manage court filings, including e-filing in Oregon District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
- Draft shell pleadings, letters, and assist with appellate documentation
- Maintain and update docketing systems and calendars in compliance with ORCP deadlines
- Organize and maintain case files and records with accuracy and attention to detail
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, court personnel, and outside counsel
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to ensure timely case progression
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Oregon litigation procedures, including the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure (ORCP)
- Proficiency with e-filing in Oregon District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; familiarity with Oregon appellate rules preferred
- Hands-on experience with Oregon court docketing systems
- At least 5 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly adapt to new legal software and systems
- Strong initiative, with the ability to work independently and contribute from day one
