Our highly respected defense firm in Downtown Portland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of legal procedures. This role is essential in supporting three busy partners and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of their practice. This is an in-office position with a possible hybrid after training.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
- Manage and organize case files using document management systems.
- Support litigation processes by preparing exhibits and managing trial preparation tasks.
- Maintain accurate data entry for client information and case details.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and law requirements as necessary.
- Provide clerical support including scheduling, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with document management systems and data entry processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of state (Oregon and Washington) and local court rules will be important.
- Excellent attention to details and proofreading abilities are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
