We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Litigation Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in litigation, with a strong understanding of all phases of the litigation process. The position requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can handle multiple cases and deadlines while supporting a busy team of attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout the litigation process, from pre-litigation through trial and post-trial.
  • Draft and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and correspondence.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including the creation of trial binders, witness lists, exhibit management, and deposition preparation.
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate scheduling for depositions, hearings, meetings, and other key legal events.
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts in compliance with local and federal court rules.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts to ensure seamless case management.
  • Perform legal research and assist with drafting discovery responses, motions, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery management, including the preparation and organization of discovery responses and productions.
  • Utilize document management systems to organize and maintain electronic case files.
  • Track case deadlines, filings, and important milestones, ensuring compliance with court orders and client expectations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or legal department, with a solid understanding of litigation processes.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
  • Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with legal research tools (eg, LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures and case management systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive client information with discretion.
  • Experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial prep and post-trial work.
