We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team on a permanent basis. This role is integral to our organization as it provides essential support to our attorneys by managing critical aspects of litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal support roles, a deep understanding of the litigation process, and exceptional organizational skills. Experience with efiling and calendar management is crucial.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents.
2. Organizing and managing electronic and hard copy document collections.
3. Managing complex calendars, meeting deadlines, and ensuring attorneys are prepared for meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
4. Coordinating with clients, court personnel, and other law firms.
5. Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents under the supervision of an attorney.
6. Managing the efiling process in various courts and jurisdictions.
7. Assisting in the preparation of case strategies, including the identification of relevant legal issues and case facts.
8. Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client information.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Legal Assistant role will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a litigation environment, commercial or business litigation preferred.
2. Proficiency in efiling systems and procedures.
3. Exceptional calendar management skills, with the ability to manage multiple attorneys' schedules and deadlines.
4. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. High level of organization and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
9. A degree or certificate in legal studies is preferred but not required.
