Salary Range: $80,000- $95,000, non-exempt
Summary: We are seeking an experienced litigation Docketing Clerk to join the docketing team of a global law firm. These positions are ideal for candidates with experience in litigation docketing and calendaring, particularly those familiar with docketing software such as CourtAlert or CompuLaw. The role involves responding to attorneys' requests, looking up rules and secondary sources, and ensuring proper deadlines and court rules are met.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to litigation attorneys, including calculating deadlines and retrieving documents.
Track critical dates and related details, and communicate information with attorneys, paralegals, and staff as necessary.
Review court filings and enter calendar deadlines in centralized docketing software (CourtAlert).
Search cases using software and internet resources as needed.
Assist with reviewing court filings to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Provide backup assistance for electronic court filings for state, federal district, and appellate courts.
Assist with other administrative projects or provide general backup support as necessary.
Qualifications:
Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures, and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings.
Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
General knowledge of court rules and procedures in California state and federal courts.
Strong research ability and knowledge of court rules and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends based on department needs.
Experience:
Experience working in a large law firm is highly desired.
Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in litigation docketing is desired.
Familiarity with CourtAlert (or other rules-based calendaring software) is preferred.
Experience with firmwide calendaring is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with rules-based calendaring software (e.g., CourtAlert, CompuLaw, MA3000, etc.).
Experience with federal, state, and local court systems, including electronic filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF, NexGen, PACER, etc.).
Work Hours:
Generally 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM, with flexibility on both sides
Overtime is expected as needed, with a balanced approach for all employees
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
