Job Details- Represent school districts, community colleges, and public education clients in civil litigation matters, including administrative hearings, state/federal court actions, and mediation/arbitration
- Handle cases involving employment disputes, construction defects, student issues, public contracting, personal injury, and constitutional claims
- Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and dispositive motions
- Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and clients for testimony
- Work directly with clients, including school boards, superintendents, and general counsel, to provide strategic legal guidance and risk management advice
- Represent clients before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, OCR, Civil Rights Department, Labor Commissioner, and others
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of attorneys and legal staff focused solely on education law
Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar license
- Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience, with full case management responsibility
- Experience in education law, employment litigation, insurance defense, or public entity defense strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with public sector clients and provide practical, informed legal advice
