Job Details

Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, you will:
1. Represent clients in litigation involving water rights, water quality, and other natural resource issues.
2. Provide legal advice and counsel to public agencies on matters related to water law and natural resources.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to water law and natural resources.
4. Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on complex water law and natural resource issues.
5. Advise clients on compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
6. Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to protect and manage water resources.
7. Work collaboratively with other attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to resolve disputes and achieve client goals.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on water law and natural resources (not required but an interest in water and natural resources)
4. Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
5. A strong understanding of water law, natural resource law, and public agency law.
6. Experience representing public agencies in litigation and administrative proceedings.
7. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
8. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
10. A commitment to environmental sustainability and the protection of natural resources.
