Linux Systems Administrator with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator to support a mission-critical federal program based in Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux system administration, a strong understanding of security and performance optimization, and a commitment to maintaining high availability in a secure government environment. Responsibilities of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator: Manage and support RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance.
Perform system administration tasks for RHEL 7.x/8.x environments, ensuring stability and performance.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Execute system backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and high availability.
Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Tenable and HP WebInspect, and implement mitigation strategies.
Investigate and respond to security incidents, applying proactive and reactive security measures.
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Recommend hardware and software solutions to meet evolving business and technical needs.
Qualifications of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator: 7+ years of experience as a Linux or Red Hat system administrator.
Strong background in RHEL system management, performance tuning, and security hardening.
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and incident response.
Active Secret Clearance and eligibility for DHS Suitability.
Must be able to work on-site five days per week in Colorado Springs, CO.
Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency support.
Compensation for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator: Salary: $120,000-$135,000/year flexible based on experience
