The Homeland Decision Support Systems Group seeks a System Administrator to be part of a team that supports end-to-end system architectures design, decision support, and advanced analytics to enhance the protection of the homeland and U.S. interests overseas. The group deploys real-time enterprise and edge solutions that support the warfighters at multiple Combatant Commands across the globe, providing a measurable impact to their missions. Balancing complexity, functionality, and time-to-deliver across multiple stakeholder projects is a key skill mix for this position. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Administer GNU/Linux desktop/server environments, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Centos distributions
•Administer Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh desktop environments, including Win 10 and OS X
•Support installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of computer and network equipment -Review and test new hardware and software applications and make recommendations for purchases
•Design and implement shell scripts and other tools to automate processes and provide needed capabilities to technical staff
•Contribute to projects to improve aspects of the computing and network infrastructure: data storage, backups and recovery, network bandwidth and throughput, application installation and management
•Support design and implement configuration management and monitoring of systems and networks
•Collaborate with other personnel within the organization to enhance technology and support practices
•Maintain regular contact with MIT LL IT and security resources and to rapidly reconfigure systems to report and remediate performance and security issues Skills: Required
•Linux Administrator including scripting
•Netapp Administrator, setup and troubleshooting
•An understanding of network setup at the system level (i.e. IPTables and firewalls)
•LDAP proficient administration, setup and maintenance
•JIRA
•Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities
•Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data
•Systems Administration
•Technologies including DNS, DHCP, Proxy and Load Balancing
•UNIX platform, OSX, Cisco IOS
•Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration) Nice to Have:
•Enterprise Backup Solutions
•SCCM, and Active Directory
•Windows Patch Management
•Windows Server Administration (SCI classified environment)
•Windows Server Platform Clearance: Candidates must have a secret clearance in order to be considered for this role. Onsite requirement: Minimum of 2 days in the office and 3 at home.
