Linux System Administrator Functional Lead (Secret) with Security Clearance

Position Title: Linux System Administrator Functional Lead Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO Relocation Assistance: None available at this time Remote/Telework: NO - Not available for this position Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret clearance Work Schedule: Day shift Travel: Up to 10% of the time Position Summary: Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Linux System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position involves managing Linux-based systems for the Missile Defense Space Center, overseeing system security compliance, and mentoring a team of administrators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat environments, container platforms, and leadership in system administration practices. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux-based physical and virtual machines Administer container platforms including OpenShift, Docker, and Podman Manage and maintain multiple image repositories and registries Ensure operating system hardening and STIG compliance Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams Manage and delegate tasks derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix sources Lead and mentor a team in performing system software installations, break/fix, and cybersecurity mitigations Develop and maintain baseline configuration documentation and system administration procedures Create, upgrade, manage, and sustain physical and virtual workstations Minimum Qualifications: Must be a US citizen Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with UNIX and/or Linux systems administration Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or any STEM-related field Experience administering Red Hat Linux environments Compensation: Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 annually.
