Linux Engineer with Security Clearance

Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position are to design, develop, install, and integrate submarine training systems. Qualified applicants will perform the following tasks:
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Linux systems, both natively and within virtual machines

• Work with team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify issues with installation and performance.

• Troubleshoot Information Technology (IT) Systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.

• Support physical hardware installation of IT computing equipment and cabling at both local and remote sites. Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other related field and 2 years experience, Master's Degree

• Experience with bash scripting.

• Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Red Hat KVM (e.g., Red Hat KVM, VMware, libvirt/virsh)

• Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

• Ability to work on site at Middletown RI. Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Security Clearance

• Current IAT Level I Certifications
o Network+
o Security+
o Linux+

• Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration development and deployment

• Experience with System Build Automation Tools (Linux kickstart, Puppet, Windows Deployment Server (WDS

• Computer/Electronics Hardware knowledge

• Intel server configurations

• Configuration management experience with both centralized and distributed version control systems (e.g., SVN and Git)
• Experience with submarine tactical systems.

• Navy junior officer experience.
