This is a hybrid role based inSouth San Francisco, CA

Purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic Linux Systems Engineer to partner alongside our System Architects with day-to-day Linux operations and join our dynamic and growing global Scientific Linux team. This person will be responsible for engineering a global Linux platform supporting R & D Scientists globally.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or foreign degree equivalent with 5 years' professional experience, or Master's Degree in related field or foreign degree equivalent with 4 years' professional experience.
  • Strongworking knowledge of Linux systems (3+ years)
  • Ability to write, deploy, and debug containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Compose) (1+ years)
  • Cloud computing experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) (1+ years)
  • Understanding of, and experience with Configuration Management tools and methodologies
  • CaC Configuration as code (JSON, YAML, HashiCorp HCL, etc.)
  • IaC Infrastructure as code (Cloud formation, Terraform, etc.)
  • Ability to develop systems automation using DevOps tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Operational experience using version control tools (Git, CVS, SVN)
  • Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Python, Perl, or other programming languages)
  • Expertise in troubleshooting physical hardware,
  • Flexibility to collaborate with teams in multiple time zones (when needed)
  • Excited to learn new technologies and curious by nature
  • Enthusiastic about developing partnerships with world class scientists and professionals
  • Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work product.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
Beneficial:
  • Experience managing Linux-based, high-performance computing
  • Prior work in Healthcare, Pharma, or Biopharma
  • Knowledge of data classification
