Position Overview:
MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Line Cooks to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a deep knowledge of cooking technics, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and organize the station according to the restaurant's fine dining standards.
- Prepare all food items with precision and attention to detail, ensuring adherence to sanitation and timing requirements.
- Follow established recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines as defined by the Chef.
- Uphold exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational practices, maintaining a clean and orderly workstation.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
- Take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
- Properly cover, date, and store all prepared food items in compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
- Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
- Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
