Job: Line Cook
Job Location: Houston, TX (near William P. Hobby Airport)
Hourly Pay: $16 per hour
Shift Timings: 4 pm to midnight (schedule will be anywhere from Monday to Sunday)
Start date: Immediate
Job Details: We're looking for a reliable
Line Cook who is passionate about food quality, thrives in a team environment, and is ready to
start immediately. The Line Cook will be working at our Client's site (Hotel) and will expected to be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen.
Ideal candidates will bring prior experience in a professional kitchen setting, along with a strong motivation to learn and grow. They should be eager to develop their culinary skills while collaborating with the culinary leadership team to craft menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and align with the restaurant's concept.
The Line Cook supports the Chef in preparing and producing food for various areas of the operation, including kitchen prep, cafeteria service, banquet functions, and fine dining. This role also involves providing guidance to ensure the kitchen team maintains consistent and efficient food production.
What You'll Do: - Prepare, cook, and plate menu items in accordance with standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (eg: chopping and peeling vegetable, cutting meat using knives and other kitchen equipment)
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
- Ensure proper food handling and storage to meet safety standards
- Assist other kitchen staff and respond quickly to changing needs during service
- Recreate menu items for restaurant and banquets
- Minimize food waste through cross utilization
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies
What We're Looking For: - MUST HAVE previous line cook experience in a hotel or similar high-volume kitchen
- Valid Food Handler's Certificate (required)
- Must be able to work independently and under tight timelines.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (4 PM to 12 AM schedule)
- Flexible availability across all days of the week
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Dependable, team-oriented, have a desire to exceed expectations and ready to begin immediately
