Position Title: Line Cook

Army Navy Country Club in Arlington is hiring experienced line cooks for positions in both our Grille Restaurant and Banquet Kitchens as we prepare for a busy summer season. At ANCC, a Line Cook is responsible for assisting Culinary Leadership in preparation and execution of Foodservice at the highest level of consistency and quality. Successful candidates possess knowledge and practical experience with multiple styles of service and various cooking techniques.

Tasks
  • Preforms shift production of a particular food production station(s) learning to execute all daily operational duties and about supervising the culinary staff.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation throughout the day.
  • Prepare food items using various cooking methods including braising, baking, grilling, frying, and sautéing.
  • Proficiently cook using equipment including grills, deep fryers, griddles, high-capacity ovens, motorized slicers.
  • Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature.
  • Adhere to OR follow the requirements and restrictions of food allergies, vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian diets.
  • Communicate grocery and supply needs daily, checking inventories and quality of raw product.
  • At the discretion of the Chef, areas of responsibilities are subject to change on a daily or long-term basis to meet the needs of the team.
Qualifications
  • Critical thinking and able to take the initiative to resolve challenges and involve a Chef(s) only when previous methods have been unsuccessful.
  • Basic knowledge of food allergies, cross contamination, dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian. (ServSafe certification is a plus)
  • Proficient with a variety of knife skills and cooking techniques.
  • Openness to learning and growing.
  • Act in a highly professional manner and understand that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds. Additionally, be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Minimum of two years of professional cooking experience.
