As a Pool Line Cook, you'll be preparing fresh and flavorful dishes in an upbeat, outdoor atmosphere, ensuring guests enjoy a delicious break under the sun.
ResponsibilitiesWhere You'll Make an Impact: - Prepare and cook menu items to order in a fast-paced, high-volume poolside kitchen.
- Ensure all food is properly cooked, seasoned, garnished, and presented in a timely manner.
- Maintain correct food temperatures and follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Prepare poolside-friendly dishes such as salads, grilled items, wraps, snacks, and cold plates.
- Keep the cooking area clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
- Assist with daily inventory, stock rotation, and food ordering.
- Maintain compliance with local health codes and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Support special pool events or promotions as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills to Help You Succeed: - Experience using kitchen equipment in an open-air or resort-style setting.
- Comfortable working in hot, humid outdoor conditions.
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare consistent dishes with attention to detail.
- Understanding of food safety standards, PPE use, and cleanliness.
- Creative and adaptable in a casual, fun, and fast-paced poolside environment.
- Ability to read production lists, menus, and event orders.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
QualificationsMust-Haves: - Must be 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Culinary education or equivalent hands-on kitchen experience.
- 1-3 years of experience as a restaurant or line cook; poolside or resort experience preferred.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
- Must be comfortable in an environment with alcohol, smoking, and loud music.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for extended periods in outdoor temperatures and conditions.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and transporting items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach repeatedly during shift.
- Comfortable working near heat sources and in refrigerated areas.
- Able to work up to 10-hour shifts on your feet in a fast-paced setting.
