Summary General Excavating is an award-winning contractor serving public and private owners throughout Nebraska and South Dakota. General Excavating specializes in the construction of underground utilities, natural gas distribution, environmental remediation, excavation shoring, directional drilling, hydro-excavation, and heavy civil including bridge and concrete structures.
Job Function: Install, modify, and/or make minor repairs to personal computer hardware, laptops, mobile devices, software, voice systems, security systems, and AV systems, and provide technical advice and support to system users.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Installs computer hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and phones.
- Manages hardware inventory for computers, printers, software licenses, and other items as needed.
- Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and various applications.
- Performs onboarding tasks for new employees, including creating various accounts, granting access to resources, hardware setup, and technical review.
- Manage user accounts for various systems, including Active Directory, Exchange, Egnyte, Proofpoint, and others as needed.
- Assist various teams with process automation through scripting and other software functionality to gain efficiency.
- Create and maintain reports using applications such as Power BI, Excel, and Sage Office connector.
- Perform required actions for terminated employees.
- Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements
- Provides technical support to end-users
- Provides status updates and completion information to manager and/or users
- Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications
- Research and recommend technology products to purchase. Initiate the purchase process.
- Researches and presents new technology options to solve organizational issues, increase productivity, or create a better user experience
- Identifies and resolves technical issues
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance and physical presence at the assigned work place
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Current knowledge of industry tools, techniques, and technologies
- Proficient in client imaging, patching, virus removal, software installations, and printer setup.
Education and Work Experience Qualifications: - Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware issues with PC's, laptops, and mobile devices.
- 2-4 years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving client PC network connectivity issues, such as issues with accessing the Internet, accessing the local network, and accessing wireless.
- 2-4 years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, resolving and installing operating systems including Windows 10.
- Experience with various software applications including MS Office, MS Project, Bluebeam, Egnyte, Sage, Zoom, PowerShell, and Power BI.
