Job Title: Life Sciences Business Systems IS Admin (Windows Desktop Admin)
Location: Apex, North Carolina
Duration: 6-month contract (W2 Only - No C2C and No Visa Sponsorship)
Work Hours: Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for non-standard or extended hours as needed. Onsite Required.
About the Role Join our skilled team at Milestone as a Life Sciences Business Systems IS Admin. In this dynamic role, you will be integral in supporting our commercial manufacturing, laboratories, and benchtop environments, managing essential systems within a regulated (GxP/GMP) landscape. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Digital Tech, to efficiently install, configure, validate, and support key lab and manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities System Administration & Support - Perform expert Windows administration for lab and manufacturing systems, focusing on Windows 10/11 and Windows Server platforms.
- Take ownership of systems like LIMS, Empower, Maximo, ServiceNow, HP ALM, and potentially MES platforms.
- Manage user accounts, group policies, license allocations, and patch deployments via SCCM.
- Handle qualification processes, including IQ and OQ, along with electronic validation documentation.
- Provide comprehensive Tier 1 and 2 support for lab instruments and associated systems.
- Oversee anti-virus deployments, network setups (TCP/IP), and firewall configurations.
Project Work & Integration - Lead lab data remediation efforts, focusing on automating data transfer from instrument controllers to enterprise storage.
- Guide Windows 11 upgrades for GxP lab systems.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors for system configurations, upgrades, and ongoing support.
- Conduct system readiness assessments, GxP validation, and risk assessments.
- Engage in workshops, system design reviews, and user acceptance testing.
Documentation & Compliance - Document all system configurations, SOPs, validation scripts, and system architectures meticulously.
- Maintain an accurate inventory through ServiceNow and align with lab asset management practices.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, cybersecurity, and data integrity standards.
- Track service and support tickets in ServiceNow and participate in daily Agile standups using Jira.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree + 2 years' experience, Associate's degree + 6 years, or HS diploma + 8 years in IT, Engineering, or related fields.
- 5+ years of Windows system administration in GxP/GMP life sciences environments.
- Proficient in Windows OS (Win10, Win11, Windows Server), SCCM, and ServiceNow.
- Hands-on experience supporting laboratory computers and benchtop instruments.
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP and domain configurations.
- Physical capability to handle hardware tasks (ability to lift up to 40 lbs).
Preferred Experience & Skills - Experience in the administration of LIMS, Empower, ELN, Waters systems, or MES.
- Understanding of system validation, ITIL framework, and regulated (GMP/GxP/GLC) environments.
- Knowledge in cybersecurity, firewalls, server environments, and VMWare platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Batch, Python, or SQL.
- Previous experience in system integration and lifecycle management in laboratory settings.
- Certifications such as A+, CompTIA+, MCSE, or Cisco (CCNA).
