Position Summary
The Life Groups Pastor has a calling and a passion to see rich, discipleship relationships come to life in intentional community through guiding and coaching the adults of Heights Church into Christ-centered relationships through Life Groups. The primary focus of this role is to develop healthy, discipleship relationships with the Life Groups Team and lay leaders of groups and empower them to do the same. This role also ensures that there are healthy groups available for adults to connect relationally and grow spiritually in groups that "do life together". This position is highly relational and innovative; it is fast-paced, full, and fun and it comes under the umbrella of Heights Church leadership.

- Creative problem solver with practical next steps
- Has individual initiative with follow-through
- Strongly preferred-
- An applicable educational background, specifically a theological degree
- 3 years of related group-based ministry experience
- Structured and organized
Heights Pastoral Responsibilities
- In-person weekend presence at alternating locations
- Pastor weddings, memorials, and various forms of counseling when necessary
Life Groups Pastor Responsibilities
LEADERSHIP ROLES:
- Decision making within the Life Groups Team
- Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings with direct reports
Life Groups Pastoral Hire 2023
• Write/Co-Write Sermon-Based Questions and a Leader's Guide for Life Groups
- Author Sermon-Based Questions that contain: biblical depth and study, relational connection points and conversational discussion questions, practical application
- Work in collaboration with other staff members and lay leaders
- Manage, coach, and relationally develop lay Life Group leaders
- Responsible for the oversight of individual Life Groups (starting point of approximately 40-50, with growth in mind)
- Intentionally pursues relational connection and discipleship with:
• Existing Leaders-Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support through regular connections
• New Leaders-Onboard thoroughly and provide additional care for initial sessions; provide clear leader expectations, initial training, and ongoing support
• Potential Leaders-Identify, pursue, recruit, and train; keep relationships and practical next steps at the forefront
- Leads the Life Groups Team and operates within the team context
ROLES ON THE LIFE GROUPS TEAM:
- Help build healthy team camaraderie
- Develop and maintain an annual plan that pursues growth and health of Life Group involvement
- Enhance and modify Life Groups materials and resources when necessary (including written material, podcasts, etc.)
- Engage with other ministries
- Staff Formation Group development, care, and discipleship
- Lead, build, and carry out gatherings and events for Life Groups
- Group Member Placement-Refine and implement strategies and systems that make it easily accessible to join a Life Group and desirable to stay in a Life Group for building long-lasting and
Christ-centered relationships
- Project group opening needs based on current growth and foreseen needs
- Create, analyze, and reflect on yearly targets, methods, and goals
- Create and adhere to yearly budget
