The Training Lieutenant oversees, instructs, and enhances numerous educational initiatives and programs as required. They operate independently and alongside team members, collaborating with various disciplines and staff levels within the organization. This role prioritizes the safety and security of all CoxHealth System employees, visitors, and patients. The individual effectively engages others through clear communication, teamwork, consensus building, and adept facilitation. Responsibilities include designing training sessions and leading drills by delivering training content enthusiastically across different environments.

- Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Professional credentials related to public safety and security Preferred: Associate degree or two years of management experience Preferred: Completion of the Missouri POST Licensure requirements
- Experience
- Required: Minimum of two years of peace officer healthcare security , or healthcare educator experience. Required: Must meet Requirements for Operating Vehicles Owned by CoxHealth System Policy, which includes no serious driving violations during the past five years. Serious violations are defined in the CoxHealth System Policy
- Skills
- Capable of clear communication in diverse situations.
- Proven ability to foster awareness and engagement in education for oneself, staff, and other healthcare professionals, along with a track record of developing others.
- Skilled at effectively interacting with all organizational levels, from senior leadership and site management to entry-level employees.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service capabilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Work effectively with diverse individuals, including staff and personnel from external agencies.

- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, data management, and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office products.
- Develop, sustain, and promote positive and harmonious working relationships with colleagues and others.
- Able to perform responsibilities while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality throughout all activities.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Must have or obtain IAHSS Security Supervisor certification within 90 days of hire.
