This posting is for multiple vacancies for Licensed Practical Nurses on various floors and shifts at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHER EVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES. Shift preferences will be discussed in the interview. Flexibility is required for training/education purposes and to meet facility needs. These positions will currently be located at Longleaf Neuro Medical Treatment Center, 4761 Ward Blvd., Wilson, NC 27893 This vacancy is for 6 Licensed Practical Nurse Positions (12-hour shifts (36/48 . 3 will be for the 7:00am - 7:00pm shift and the other 3 will be for the 7:00pm - 7:00am shift Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. The Licensed Practical Nurse assists the Registered Nurse, Medical and Psychiatric Team in meeting each individual patient's practicable level of independence and function through medical and psychosocial intervention, administering medication and evaluating the patient's response to care. Licensed Practical Nurse will take part in interdisciplinary team process, assist in managing difficult behavior and provide guidance to Health Care Technicians (Nurse Aide I) during day to day activity in daily living. Longleaf Neuro Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC) is a certified Medicare and Medicaid facility nursing home that provides a continuum of care to both adults with severe and persistent mental illness that also have long-term medical conditions requiring residential, medical and nursing care, and to adults with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or other related dementia. LNMTC facilitates high quality skilled and intermediate nursing care throughout four Nursing Unit Floors and an Alzheimer's Unit that operates 24 hours seven days a week, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date); the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency; or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
