Position Objective - To Provider excellent customer service to our patients. Part of a nursing team that is responsible for patient flow, clinical inventory, nurse visits, and assists the Provider when needed.

Performance Expectation - Clinical:
- Attends/assists provides with minor procedures, e.g. gyn examinations, suturing, removal of cysts, warts, etc.
- Follows treatment guidelines, provides patient teaching, and attends simple procedures for nurse visits.
- Provides treatments as ordered by MD/NP, i.e. nebulizer treatments, inhaler treatment and teaching, throat/strep cultures, urine dips, glucometer checks.
- Obtains and records patient's chief complaint or reason for visit.
- Takes patient vital signs and records finding in medical record.
- Performs ancillary testing/screening i.e. ph q9, foot exams, monofilament testing, BMI, adolescent palm screener, pediatric obesity screener, peak flow testing, pulse oximetry, vision and hearing screening, phlebotomy, specimen procurement, ECG's following established protocols, procedures and policies.
- Prepares and administers adult and childhood immunizations according to current State and National guidelines.
- Prepares and administers allergy injections according to orders from DHMC allergy clinic.
- Insures that patients are prepared and ready to be seen by the provider at the scheduled time of their appointment.
- Manages providers' time by keeping the provider aware when he/she is off schedule and by determining the order in which patients are seen.
- Keeps patients fully informed of any reasons for delays and offers the opportunity to reschedule if the patient cannot or does not want to wait.
- Clinical Supplies:
- Prepares examination rooms and gathers supplies and assists Provider with procedures as needed.
- Maintains medication room. Completes medication area inspection report monthly and reports concerns to supervisor
- Complies with established policies and procedures for the disposal of medical waste
- Assures instruments are prepared for sterilization, as required by policy and follows infection control policies.
- Assist Providers and nursing team with form completion, Rx refills, and other paperwork and meets deadlines as required.
- Other Essential Position Functions:
- Maintains all clinical areas in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
- Provides a high level of customer service to our patients and co-workers. Assuring that the patient's experience with our hospital is a great one
- Responsible for securing medication room and procedure room at closing
- Maintain adequate and appropriate supplies in all exam rooms and treatment rooms and other clinical areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Team Manager or Practice Manager.
