About the Role - The Social Worker position requires a licensed clinical professional with direct experience in treating a broad range of behavioral health issues. The ideal candidate will be skilled in assessing and addressing co-occurring disorders, including mental illness, personality disorders, and challenges within primary or secondary support systems. This role involves active coordination of care with both internal teams-such as psychiatry and community support-and external entities including the legal system, families, and social service agencies.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker may also provide support to the Program Director or fellow therapists as needed and is expected to be a collaborative, positive contributor to the clinical team. Depending on the setting, expertise in specific populations or specialized skills may be required. The role demands a high level of professional judgment and independence, with minimal supervision. Candidates must hold a valid license issued by the relevant regulatory board for human service professions. Some services may require additional licensure, experience, or education.
Responsibilities -
- Conducting clinical assessments
- Running individual, family and group outpatient therapy sessions
- Conducting inpatient group therapy sessions
- Orienting new service users to RHA
- Developing person-centered plans for service users
- Oversee the discharge planning process
- Facilitating relationships between RHA, service user families/legal guardians and various social service community resources, such as food stamp and housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement and substance abuse support groups
Required Skills/ Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Social Work or a related field
- Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing person-centered plans, conducting effective group therapy and providing mental health diagnoses
- General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
Preferred Skills
Our ideal Licensed Clinical Social Worker is an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs.
Pay range and compensation package - 58,000 - 60,000, $3k sign on bonus
