- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and common office equipment to include computers and database and word processing programs.
- Highly developed interpersonal, group, and communication skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work without constant direct supervision.
REPORTS TO: Site principal; site library media specialist; may consult
Director of Information Technology Services.
JOB GOAL: To assist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning
library media program that supports the educational mission
of the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintains the appropriate order of library media center materials and equipment to assure efficient access.
- Accurately circulates library media center materials and equipment to students and staff while keeping proper records of their circulation.
- Assists in making requisitions for library media center materials and equipment.
- Prepares new materials and equipment for placement in the library media center's collection.
- Maintains electronic catalog and circulation records and makes changes as necessary to keep the records current and accessible.
- Develops and distributes reports concerning available materials to teachers and students including overdue reports.
- Makes simple repairs to damaged materials.
- Maintains an inventory of office, technology supplies, and replacement items.

- Follows established procedure to collect and receipt money paid for fines or lost materials, and maintains financial records for special projects.
- Prepares circulation and financial reports as needed.
- Assists students and staff with the use of library media center materials, audiovisual and computer equipment, and electronic resources.
- Assists in maintaining the appearance of the library media center.
- Assists in inventory and weeding procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned to benefit the library media program.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine months.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated
annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
