Manages design, and project implementation to effectively use technology to serve library customers; Analyzes computing needs for new libraries/facilities; Serves as the library project manager for procurement and implementation of new technologies; Actively manages library vendor technology contracts, including involvement from contract development through closeout Directs the Technology System Support team, including overseeing the Creation Stations and other technology related services; Provides leadership for change management; Develops and coordinates technology policies and procedures to provide high-level service to internal and external library customers; Directs the development and updating of library technology plans as required for State Aid. Identifies and monitors annual performance measures related to digital services and monitors SCL performance with a focus on continuous improvement; Serves as member of the Library Management Team; Acquire and maintain working knowledge of Sarasota County Library System operational and business needs by participating in meetings, reviewing relevant documentation, and openly communicating with customers as necessary; Assess, plan and evaluate library current and emerging technology needs; Provides hardware and software support, system integration and consulting services; Manages library applications, analyzes requirements for third-party applications, maintains and modifies existing applications, designs and develops new applications, and reports project status; Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves internal and external customer issues with library applications and computer hardware as needed; Interprets data to identify library business trends and needs; translates needs into actionable projects; Serves as liaison between Libraries and Historical Resources and Sarasota County EIT on network, server, and computer maintenance issues; Adheres to EIT policies and procedures and attends EIT Team meetings; Supervises library technology inventory; Continually analyzes technology architecture at existing libraries/facilities; Acts as a consultant and liaison for users and ensures that problems are handled appropriately by prioritizing internally and working with staff/vendors to insure timely resolution; Provide feedback to customers and to IT managers as necessary Develops training modules for library staff and patrons; Participates in user groups, formal classes, and self-instruction to keep abreast of the latest developments and technical advances in the industry as they relate to assigned projects and responsibilities; Researches and stays current with trends and new developments with library related systems; Manages proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility; Oversees financial, compliance, operations and performance audits; reviews audit findings and ensures appropriate controls are established and implemented Job Requires Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited institution and three (3) of experience with technology in public library
