Firm Overview:

Join a dynamic firm that specializes in creditor representation, focusing primarily on Chapter 11 with some Chapter 9 cases. We provide dedicated support to lending institutions and banks, and occasionally assist on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases from the creditor's perspective. Due to our growing workload, we are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive legal secretary to support two attorneys, with a potential for expanded responsibilities as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to two attorneys, with opportunities to assist more as our workload increases.
  • Assist with federal and appellate filing procedures; prior bankruptcy court filing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Manage case documents, filings, and scheduling using iManage, Macros, and Styles; docketing experience is essential.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents and correspondence with a keen eye for detail.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of legal secretary experience in a litigation or bankruptcy environment.
  • Experience with federal and appellate filings is essential; bankruptcy court filing experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency with iManage, Macros, and Styles is a MUST.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines are required.
  • While bankruptcy experience is preferred, candidates with excellent litigation experience, particularly in commercial and civil litigation, are encouraged to apply.
  • A background in complex litigation and a strong understanding of bankruptcy will be considered an asset.
