We have an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary in our Lancaster Office. The Legal Secretary will be responsible for assisting a variety of attorneys in the Business Law & Litigation department.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Formatting and compiling pleadings, contracts, correspondence, business and corporate filings, and other legal documents
- Filing legal documents (e-filing in state and federal courts, agencies, and business filing systems)
- Transcribing dictations
- Corresponding with clients via email and telephone
- Maintaining calendars (deadlines, discoveries responses, and court orders)
- Scheduling depositions, telephone, in-person conferences, and Teams/Zoom meetings
- Client intake, opening new matters
- Typing letters, documents, reports, pleadings, and memoranda
- Downloading and compiling filings from various court/agency websites
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, proofreading, and formatting
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files
- Creating and revising powerpoint presentations and assisting attorneys with preparing client trainings
- Greeting clients and visitors
Education and Experience:
- High school degree/GED, bachelor's degree a plus
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Kofax/Nuance, iManage, Powerpoint, and Excel
- Knowledge of the court systems is a must; knowledge of business filing systems is strongly preferred
- Possess excellent written and verbal skills
