An established law firm has an immediate opening for an experienced
Estate Planning/Estate Administration/Successions position in its
New Orleans office. This role involves supporting
estate planning efforts by organizing data for wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, as well as assisting with estate administration tasks such as identifying and marshaling assets, preparing probate petitions, maintaining a calendar system of deadlines, and preparing inventories and accountings. The position also involves client contact and interfacing with financial institutions to gather necessary information.
Qualifications: - Substantial experience in estate planning, estate administration, and probate matters.
- Proficient in preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, beneficiary designations, and other estate planning documents.
- Experience with probate petitions, asset marshaling, preparing inventories and accountings, and managing court deadlines.
- Ability to interface with clients and financial institutions during the information-gathering process.
- Familiarity with preparing trust accountings, estate and gift tax returns, and fiduciary returns.
Candidate Requirements: - Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Client-facing experience is required.
- Experience with ProbatePlus or Estateworks software is a plus.
