The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to a thriving international luxury retail company, with a focus on commercial and corporate law, working directly for the Head of Legal (United States) and the senior stakeholders/ US business.

Description
As Legal Counsel, varied responsibilities include:
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial and corporate matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to various business activities including wholesale distribution agreements.
- Support management with strategic legal input for business decisions.
- Manage legal risks and protect the company's rights and interests.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company - update policies and run training.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to promote compliance.
- Ad hoc projects including reviewing leases for new additional stores opening in the US.

Profile
The successful Legal Counsel should have:
- A Juris Doctor degree from a recognized US law school.
- Bar admission and good standing in the state of New York.
- Strong understanding of commercial and corporate law.
- Preference for candidates 5 years post JD - ideally 3 years in-house experience and 2 years in private practice.
- Excellent contract negotiation, drafting, review and full-cycle contract management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Job Offer
The successful in-house Legal Counsel will benefit from:
- A competitive salary in the range of $150,000 to $200,000 base depending on experience.
