We're looking for a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant to join our San Diego team and support impactful litigation that drives real change.

About the Role

In this role, you'll provide critical support to attorneys and legal staff by managing case documentation, coordinating client communication, and maintaining accurate litigation data. Your work will help ensure smooth operations across our legal processes, particularly in high-stakes litigation involving institutional clients.

This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality legal support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, including retainers, complaints, and case summaries
  • Maintain litigation databases and track filings, deadlines, and case activity
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to verify data, collect signatures, and manage court filings
  • Conduct conflict checks and ensure compliance for new and ongoing matters
  • Monitor and communicate updates to client and matter data
  • Assist with motion filings, settlement communications, and document production
  • Proofread internal and external communications for accuracy and legal compliance
  • Serve as a backup for team members and assist in cross-functional support
  • Perform additional administrative and legal tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree required
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation legal support experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in quality control or data management in a legal or corporate environment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal tools such as Westlaw, Lexis, and NetDocs
  • Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team

Preferred Experience

  • Background in securities litigation or class action law
  • Knowledge of legal filing procedures, fund tracking, or CRM systems
  • Familiarity with document management platforms in a legal setting
